Holt United  1 - 5  Poole Town

Another good workout for the Dolphins as they cruised to a 5-1 win at Dorset Premier side Holt United.

It was Holt who took the lead on just four minutes when they were awarded an extremely dubious penalty which was comfortably tucked away. Poole hit straight back three minutes later when a Whitley freekick found the head of Ian Richardson and he looped the ball over the keeper to equalise.

A very sweet goal followed on fifteen minutes. Soem neat passing involving several players eventually saw Trefor Smith feed the ball wide to Luke Whitley. His pinpoint corss and second assist found the head of Stuart Brown who made no mistake.

36 minutes and Poole made it 3-1. A Dan Cann freekick was headed goalwards and after the keeper could only parry the ball away Ian Richardson hammered home the rebound with his left foot to score his second.

Half time: 1-3.

The second half saw the usual wholsale changes with many unknown faces playing in Poole shirts. The pattern remained the same though as Poole completely dominated the game and continued to play some really good football. The new faces acquitted themselves very well it has to be said. New striker Steve Smith added two goals in the second half and looked pretty sharp and natural in front of goal.

Poole had 20 players on show and amongst them were, Frampton, Hogan, Steer, Whitley, Toby Redwood, Trefor Smith, Chris Smith, Cann, Cannie, Brown, Ian Richardson, Saadi, Steve Smith, Denton (South African who has played for Sutton) plus others.
