News Manager
Peter Moore is talking to plenty of other players including a well known Wessex League
striker who he is 95% sure will sign in due course. Of the new signings Dan West is a classy centre half once on the books at Aston Villa. Matty Parkin is also well known in local football and has played midlfield / defence for Wimborne Town and Poppies. Fixture News The friendly against AFC
Bournemouth has been confirmed as Thursday 19th July - kick-off 7.00pm. The first round of the Trophyman Cup has also been announced and Poole Town have been drawn at home to Ringwood Town - date to be arranged. Club News The Hampshire FA held their AGM on Saturday 9th June where they proposed that Poole Town should remain in the Hampshire Premier League next season. All but one club voted to support the proposal and Poole Town have been confirmed in the Premier League. The club who voted against Poole Town? West Wight Mayflower - a decision which will come as no surprise to regular Dolphins supporters! Still, we can now look forward to giving them another good hiding next season! Programme News The magnificent matchday programme produced by the tireless Dolphins Secretary Bill Reid has been voted 18th in a national survey of 1103 programmes. This is a rise of four places from last seasons position of 22nd and only 1 Conference and 1 Doc Martens Premier League side managed to get programmes voted higher than the Poole Town classic. Well Done to Bill Reid for another wonderful season of programmes! |

News As expected the Council Executive gave 100% support to the funding for floodlights at Tatnam and we can now report that this has been passed and the money has been made available. This is subject to planning permission approval which will not happen until at least the middle of June. Contractors are now being sought in order that, given approval, the lights can be started on as soon as possible. The work is expected to take approximately 6 weeks. Plans and measurements are also being processed for a permanent barrier around the pitch (to Vauxhall Conference standard) and a 156 seater stand. Fixture News The first pre-season friendly has been arranged and pits the Dolphins against a full strngth AFC Bournemouth side. The match is to be played on Thursday 12th July at Tatnam with an evening kick-off - time to be announced. Player Profiles I have now started a Player Profile section to the website and this can be found in the contents on the left. The idea is to add a new player every month thereby building up the team over the course of the year. Poole goalkeeper Terry Stockley has kindly bared his soul first - read about it here! |
