Hampshire League News - (report courtesy of www.nonleaguedaily.com)

The Hampshire League are calling their elite clubs together to discuss the repercussions of this week's bombshell news that the Wessex League are to expand into a second division. All Premier Division clubs have been called to a meeting next Wednesday in Southampton.

As one of two feeder leagues into the Wessex, along with the Dorset Premier League, Hampshire could face a fight to cling onto their top clubs when the changes are implemented the season after next.

The Wessex League's immediate past president, Alf Peckham, confirmed this week that they plan to launch a 14 to 16-strong Division 2 in September next year to strengthen their position in the football Pyramid.

The news was described as a possible "crisis" by Hampshire's league development officer John Moody, who said: "Potentially, we could lose quite a few clubs. We need to discuss the situation and consider the consequences."

Player News

At an encouraging meeting last week the following players have already signed up for the new season:-

Matty Homer, Milan Parodi, Jamie Holland, Carl Woodward, Matty White, Nick Miles, Ben Miles, Neil Wardle, Karim Benssaouda, Matt Morris, Gary Morris, Graham Kemp, Pierre Moffatt, Gary Fletcher, James Wood, Ben Wright, Darren Mooney, Kieron Wall, Max Crowe and Paul Roberts.

Not yet signed but having agreed is Darren Reeks, Neal Spalding and Ross Elliott.
With Spalding only being available some of the time next season Darren Reeks will be installed as club skipper for the new campaign.

News on other signings as and when they happen.

Computer Game News

For owners of Championship Manager 4, Expansion Pack 3 has today been released. The pack is available for download in two different versions. There is a 13MB file which contains all the bug fixes since game was released. For Poole fans the 45MB file not only contains the bug fixes but also updates all the team and player data within the game and, as promised, SI Games have now included all the details I gave them for Poole Town. This means that the Poole team is now pretty accurate although before any Poole players start complaining I had no input on the ratings for any of the player attributes!!

SI Games have also added Paul & Dean in on the staff side and Dick Thomas even appears as physio!

The SI Games website can be found here but if anyone would like the latest Expansion Pack + Data and are unable to download it please e-mail me here and I will arrange to ship you a CD with the pack on - no charge!

One small hint: Although you cannot start the game managing Poole Town there is a rumour that by setting your favourite team in the managers details screen to Poole will actually help make them 'appear' in the Conference quicker via promotion. Haven't been able to prove this yet but will let you know! If anyone has any comments on this please leave a note on the Messageboard.
